great idea. The wicker or rattan in it's natural state
is submerged in a sealer to prevent moisture from damaging
the frames. The frames are then painted or stained in
a weather-resistant finish. Cushions are made with acrylic
fabrics (like those used to make awnings & sailboat
sails) that resist moisture and mildew. Some cushions
even have a draining system built into them to allow the
water to run thru the bottom side. Synthetic materials
such as vinyl or resin are also used to make outdoor wicker.
The vinyl or resin is woven over aluminum frames to create
furniture that can withstand the harshest of climates.
Synthetic wicker is perfect for those who want to leave
